This is what happened on Royal Jordanian flight 262

Passengers were told that a bird went into one of the engines, passengers were taken to the hotel for one night, on the next morning one of Royal Jordanian employees told our passengers "do not use the phone, it's expensive". The next morning, and towards the afternoon, the Hotel management couldn't contact The prestigous airline, so they had to call the police, two police cars arrived, the police managed to contact RJ. by 6PM RJ sent buses and passengers were taken to JFK. The plane took off arround 9:00 PM.
