Subject : A reply to the Quranic Mathemtician and the 2007 flood

Dear Arab times:

Not too long ago, you published an article by a Quranic “code cracker” in which he claims that in 2007 a flood will hit the United States and completely destroy it. He of course, had to use the Holy Quran and find that secret code in it that supports his claim. Then he moves forward and preaches to the American people and administration on how to avoid such a disaster by abiding to justice and human rights.

I have to admit that I felt embarrassed just reading that particular article, not only because of the nonsense mathematical equations he provides, but also by his out-of-ass analogies of linking the United States of America and the CIA to words in the Holy Quran.

And then came the disaster when his “Quranic discovery” made it to the late night show with Conan O’Brian who cracked a couple of jokes about it in front of millions of his American viewers who already have bad (to say the least) perceived ideas about Muslims.

I beg you, Arab Times, to have a policy about publishing religious articles that make no sense and further shows our loser and whiner mentality. We, as Muslims, have to understand that honoring the Quran comes through applying its true spirit not by finding “secret codes” and “hidden scientific discoveries” among Its lines.

No more “Camel math” or reversed addition/subtraction science.
